The BMW e65 and e66 7- Series was produced in the United States from 2002-2009. The body was completely redesigned body from the e38 but has the same high-performance speed and handling of a BMW. Like many of the luxury vehicles, the seven-series has several common problems that arise after a few years of driving the vehicle, including downshifting issues from second gear to first gear. Drivers complain of extremely hard shifting that makes the car jerk, shake and surge forward. This typically happens when downshifting from second to first, but it can also happen when upshifting from first to second. The hard-shifting can happen sporadically.
