Cooling

The cooling system is critical to the performance and longevity of your vehicle’s engine. A cooling system works as a whole by circulating fluid to transfer heat away from your engine’s vital internal parts. A cooling failure can leave you stranded, or much worse resulting in engine failure. Preventative maintenance should be done every 60k miles or 5 years. We regularly inspect hoses, radiators, thermostat, expansion tank, water pump, fans, fan clutch to help you avoid catastrophic engine overheating. Don’t ignore leaks, bulging and dry rotted hoses or low coolant warnings.

Crate Engines

A Crate engine in our perspective would be a brand new engine coming straight from the BMW Dealership. Crate engines are more expensive than remanufactured engines, but they’re guaranteed to be in OEM condition and have a factory warranty. A crate engine will have the same lifespan as the engine in a car just rolling off the assembly line. Therefore Crate will be the best long-term solution for customers who plan to keep their car for as long as possible.

Rod Bearings

Rod bearings are a typical wear item on certain high revving engines such as the S54 l6, S85 V10, and the S65 V8. Typically needing to be replaced around 60,000 Miles before the possible consequences of a catastrophic engine failure. During replacement, we recommend a coated aftermarket option to prolong bearing life and reduce friction. however, bearings are still a wear item. There is no official replacement interval from BMW, and the last design revision seems to last a long time, but we feel comfortable recommending a preventative replacement every 100,000 miles. Track your bearing wear with regularly used oil analysis and plan on the rod bearing replacement sometime in your engine’s future.
