Independent BMW Repair Shop Service Doesn’t Void Warranty

Let’s face it, BMW repairs can be expensive and when you buy that new or used BMW from the dealership, you want to make sure your BMW is covered with a vehicle warranty if anything should go wrong and you need to have repairs completed. When available, we recommend you always get an extended warranty.

It’s common to hear that after you purchase your BMW with a warranty, all of the BMW scheduled maintenance and repairs need to be completed by the dealership or else it voids the warranty. This is a myth and unfortunately, many people believe it is true. You can have your BMW that is under warranty repaired at an Independent BMW repair shop.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act Explained

According to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, vehicle manufacturers are not able to dictate to you, the consumer, where to have your scheduled maintenance and repair work done that falls under your warranty.

You have the right to have your BMW serviced according to the manufacturer’s maintenance schedule at any qualified independent BMW repair shop, including Bavarian Rennsport.

Taking your vehicle to our local independent BMW service center for routine service does NOT void the warranty. At Bavarian Rennsport, you will receive the same top-notch independent BMW repair service, if not better, than you get at the dealership. You also will also receive the same original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement parts the dealership uses, and they will be installed by our highly specialized BMW technicians. And you will definitely save yourself some money.

If your vehicle has a known issue, a diagnostic is required. Please be advised that in the event of any unexpected wait time other clients' vehicles may take longer than expected to diagnose and treat so unfortunate delays do occur. We will get to your vehicle as soon as possible.

What precautions are you taking during COVID-19 to ensure the health of your staff and customers?

✅ We keep a super clean shop, but we have kicked things up. We have completely disinfected our building with a hospital-grade disinfectant, which we are doing 3 times per day. We disinfect the surface area of every vehicle that we go in. We sterilize every piece of mail and received parts as each arrives. All of our staff are required to wear gloves and masks so please don’t be scared if you come to the shop. These measures are necessary to ensure we stay healthy for you and our families.
✅ We are now offering courtesy pick-up and drop-off services, excluding oil changes and FREE Vehicle Health Checks. Charges apply over 25 miles ($1.50 per mile).
✅ You must have an appointment. When you arrive for your appointment, pull up to the cones or park in a parking spot in the adjacent lot (white building). After parking, place keys in the blue dropbox.
✅ All inspections, estimates, approvals, payments will all be handled digitally. No cash will be accepted at this time.
✅ Upon completion of work and time for pickup, we will call you to see if you want to pick up your car or if you would like to arrange a dropoff.
✅ When your vehicle is complete, we will call you to coordinate pickup at our shop or we can dropoff to you. If you are picking up, we will text you a code so you can retrieve your keys from a secure lockbox once you arrive on site.
