First introduced in the US in 2009, the BMW F01 7 series features the iDrive control system, which allows drivers to manage the climate, entertainment, navigation and communication systems from one location in the vehicle. Because the iDrive system is so technologically-advanced, it has some bugs. Owners often report that the iDrive system “crashes” periodically and certain functions fail to work completely.

As it relates to the audio system, some of the iDrive issues include the CD changer getting stuck on a single disc and not advancing to the next disc, or the radio channels won’t save properly. Other drivers report issues with being able to sync the iDrive system with their media player.

In the iDrive’s the communication system, some of the issues include an unresponsive keyless entry system and issues with being able to sync their smartphones with the car’s Bluetooth technology. The navigation system also has majorly inconvenient bugs and some that can lead to dangerous situations, like when the road-side assistance notification fails.

There are also climate control issues with the iDrive. When working properly, the 4 zone air conditioning system is controlled through the iDrive to manage airflow and temperature levels separately for all the passengers in your 7 series. When the system crashes, it won’t react to the passenger’s requests. Throughout the system, voice commands can also be full of glitches and the iDrive system won’t recognize your voice.

✅ We keep a super clean shop, but we have kicked things up. We have completely disinfected our building with a hospital-grade disinfectant, which we are doing 3 times per day. We disinfect the surface area of every vehicle that we go in. We sterilize every piece of mail and received parts as each arrives. All of our staff are required to wear gloves and masks so please don’t be scared if you come to the shop. These measures are necessary to ensure we stay healthy for you and our families.
✅ We are now offering courtesy pick-up and drop-off services, excluding oil changes and FREE Vehicle Health Checks. Charges apply over 25 miles ($1.50 per mile).
✅ You must have an appointment. When you arrive for your appointment, pull up to the cones or park in a parking spot in the adjacent lot (white building). After parking, place keys in the blue dropbox.
✅ All inspections, estimates, approvals, payments will all be handled digitally. No cash will be accepted at this time.
✅ Upon completion of work and time for pickup, we will call you to see if you want to pick up your car or if you would like to arrange a dropoff.
✅ When your vehicle is complete, we will call you to coordinate pickup at our shop or we can dropoff to you. If you are picking up, we will text you a code so you can retrieve your keys from a secure lockbox once you arrive on site.
